God Manifest In The Flesh

Text:
  • James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
  • John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

  • We beheld his glory
Theme:
  • Jesus is God
Introduction
God has many witnesses of the Trinity.  The world around us and scripture teach us of the Trinity.  If you are born again, you have three parts. Here are some of the witnesses of three in the world and the Scriptures.
  1. Water: solid, liquid, gas
  2. Light: Infra red, actinic rays, and ultra violet.
  3. Basic Blood types: A, B, O
  4. Airplanes: 3 wheels
  5. Dimensions in physical space: length, height, width
  6. Races: Shem, Ham, Japheth
  7. Good leaders: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
  8. US Government power: executive, legislative, and judicial
  9. Meals: breakfast lunch and dinner
  10. Threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecc 4:12)
  11. Old testament: Law, Prophets, and the Psalms
  12. God: omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent
  13. The atom: electron, neutron, proton
  14. Time: past, present, and future
  15. The Earth: land, sea, and air
  16. What keeps you alive: food, water, and air
  17. God is made of three parts: Soul(the Father), The Holy Spirit, and body(Jesus Christ).   Adam was created in this same trinity and died spiritually when he sinned. Let us make man in our image. (Gen1:26)
  18. Physical stability requires 3 points of contact: A four-legged chair on a flat surface will rock with only 3 points touching at any time. That’s why a tripod holds your camera still.
  19. Jesus Christ was crucified at the age of 33, after a ministry that lasted 3 years. He spent nine (3 x 3) hours on the cross, with 3 of those hours in darkness. He was buried for 3 days and 3 nights, and resurrected on the 3rd day.  His and your destination is the 3rd heaven.

The Bible shows you three parts of the trinity in the following verses:
  • John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
  • John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
So who is going to send the Comforter, Jesus in John 16 or the Father in John 14?  Easy, God will send him!  For God is made up of a trinity.  The Trinity of God is made up of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Comforter is the Holy Ghost. (John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost…).

This trinity is first seen in the Bible all the way back in Genesis.  Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.... 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him.  The "us" here is the Trinity!

Without God coming to the earth as a man, you could not understand God.  This is evidenced by all the crazy religions of the world.  These religions are made up by men trying to understand God by thinking hard.  They all fail because they can not understand God in their fallen state. In fact many of the religious leaders who started a false faith were not even born again.  Examples:  Buddhists, Confucianists, Taoists, Muslims, Unitarian Universalism, an many other cults in America. So God sent Jesus and you can understand Him because He was a man.

So Jesus and the Father are both in the Trinity: John 10:30 I and my Father are one.  Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.

Again notice in the following passages when Jesus equates himself with God the Father, named Jehovah in the Old Testament:

Jehovah God speaks to Moses:
Exodus 3:14 …Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Jesus speaks to the Disciples:
John 15:1 I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

The “I AM” is all capitalized in the KJV 1611 because it is a reference to God in both verses.  Jesus just told you He is God!

Jesus rebukes Philip because he misses the equality of Himself with God the Father.
John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father...
9 Jesus saith unto him… he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Consider this: Because Jesus is God, then God himself was rebuking the religious leadership of the time.  Therefore the religious leaders wanted to kill him. God had already prophesized this in the Psalms.

Psalms 118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

Mark 12:10 Jesus says …The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.

God's people rejected Jesus as God and therefor wanted to stone Jesus for saying he was God.  There are many places in the NT where Jesus said he was God.  The Jews understood exactly what He was saying and called it blasphemy instead of accepting their Messiah.
For instance:
John10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand...

The problem the Jews had is the same problem America has today.  You see, they believed in God as the vast majority Americans do.  Over 90% of Americans believe in God.  But if you bring Jesus in the picture, now you have a standard and responsibility, a plum-line that judges you.  So when faced with "Jesus is God," they lose it, just like most Americans do today.  John 10:30 I and my Father are one.  31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Now watch the Scriptures equate the Holy Spirit and Jesus.
I will include the verses around our text for context, so you can see that the same event is being described in both passages.  The issue here is that in one Bible passage the Holy Spirit is said to operate, and in a parallel passage, describing the same event, Jesus substitutes Himself for the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 10: 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;  18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.  19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.  20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Luke 21:2 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
This of course is no contradiction at all when one understands the Trinity of God. But if not, you may change the Bible text, as many other Bible Versions have done, to erase the Deity of Christ.  The trinity is obvious in the KJV 1611 and wiped out of other translations.

Whenever the word “Word” is found in the Scriptures with a capital "W", it is a reference to Jesus Christ and not the Bible or words in the Bible.  This is obvious because the Bible never became God and you do not pray to the Bible.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

This same “Word,” which is a reference to Jesus, is said to be in the trinity and be God in 1 John 5.
1st John 5:5 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Again, the Trinity is laid out for all to understand.  I have included 1 John 5:7 and 8 so you could compare these to the New World Translation (the corrupt translation used by the Jehovah's Witnesses).  The underlined portion of verse 7 above, has been removed in the New World Translation.  The two verses have then been carefully stitched together so that you will read smoothly without noticing the changes.  Please notice that six witnesses are given in the Scripture above and three of the witnesses are removed in the NWT: Father, Word, Holy Ghost, Spirit, Water, blood.  The first three witnesses, which are the Trinity, have been removed:

Corrupt NWT Bible reads falsely:
1st John 5:7 For there are three witness bearers, 8 the spirit and the water and the blood, and the three are in agreement.

This verse has also been deleted in the NIV, NASB, NKJV, ASV, and all other English translations except the KJV 1611.  If you use an English Bible (there are more than 150) that’s not the KJV 1611, you have a Bible from the same source as the Jehovah’s Witness New World Translation.

The world is to be united under a false Christ.  For this to happen, all the world must believe that Jesus is not God.  For if you are holding on to Jesus as God, how could you take another Christ?
Jesus Himself said, John 5:43 “I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.”  Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.  And John in prophecy wrote: Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon…

One day another anointed one will rise from the dead. Another Christ will be accepted, and the world will wonder after him and worship him.  The Church will be raptured by this time. But even then the world could not be deceived if it believed that Jesus was God.  This false Christ will come in with peace saying all faiths lead to God.  This message is already being preached by the Roman Catholic Church.

Lastly, the Lord Jesus Christ shows his eternal existence from before the world was created.
  • John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
  • John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Conclusion
I think 1 Timothy 3:16 is the greatest verse in the Bible.
It also shows the Trinity.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

If you don’t believe Jesus is God, you will seek out fallen men to be your authority and they will lead you into lies.  You may even make your own opinion your final authority in error.

On the other hand, If you believe that Jesus is God, then you understand why there is salvation in no other person.
1st Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Acts 14:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

If you believe Jesus is God, then you can understand why all religions are false except true Christianity
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalms 35:4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. 7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.

If you believe Jesus is God then you will not be lead astray to worship angels or great men.

1st Corinthians 1:2 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

1st Corinthians 3: 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Jesus is God and is the only means of salvation for any man.  I am preaching this message of God’s glory in His Son Jesus that He may be glorified and that you may know His salvation and lay hold on it.
1st Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Jesus is God in the flesh, and He is to be glorified and worshipped by all men, with their very lives, as God!  ...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians6:2
